Centrefire Gallery Rifle developed in popularity in the Uk following the prohibition of short firearms in 1997. It requires a Lever Action rifle chambered in a centrefire pistol calibre which means that it can be practiced or competed on a range which is rated for pistols and does not require a range which is rated for the more high velocity rifle calibres. Any calibre between .354 and .455 is permitted. The most common calibres in Ireland include .357, .38 &.44. The most common firearms in Ireland are the Marlin 1894 variants but Winchester and Rossi also make variants which would be permitted. if you have any questions on this discipline please direct them to galleryrifle@nasrpc.ie |
